Ralph G. Patino, Esq.

Ralph G. Patino is the managing shareholder, President and Chief Operating Officer of the Patino & Associates, P.A., which was founded in 1992. He has successfully led the law firm in achieving many multimillion dollar jury awards and settlements. As such, he is a member of the Million Dollar Verdict Club.

Mr. Patino is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubell and has been honored nationally by his peers at the American Association for Justice with the James L. Sharp award for the Pursuit of Public Justice. He is one of a handful of products liability attorneys credited with for the prompting of a massive recall of over 6.5 million Firestone ATX Wilderness tires after proving to Federal agencies (NHTSA) that they were defective. As a result of this work, he was chosen to lead the pack as a steering committee member and finance chair of the largest multi-district litigation group ever assembled in U.S. history.

In response to his leadership roles in national issues, as well as his involvement with products liability cases which protect the public, Mr. Patino has been featured on both American and Hispanic broadcast media including Good Morning America, The Today Show, CNN, CNNE, Despierta America, Al Rojo Vivo,America TeVe, Mundo Fox and Actualidad 1020AM,and print media including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, Automotive Weekly, the Miami Herald, theSun Sentinel and the South Florida Business Journal.

Mr.Patino is also committed to public service. At the federal level, he is a member of the Democratic National Finance Committee, a founder and board member of Cuba Now, a founding Member of the Board of Directors of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s U.S.-Cuba Business Council, and together with nationally-known Latino figures Eva Longoria, Henry Munoz and Andres Lopez, he is a founding member of the Futuro Fund, an organization credited with raising $36 million dollars for the Democratic National Committee in 2012 by engaging and empowering Hispanic and Latino donors for the first time. Compounding on this success, in 2014, he also co-founded the Latino Victory Project, whose sole mission is to support Latino and Hispanic candidates for office throughout the United States.

On the state and local level, Mr. Patino is a trustee of the Florida Democratic Party and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Jackson Health System Public Health Trust, which is entrusted with the steering of a multi-billion dollar enterprise. He is also an acting director of the Mourning Foundation, a charitable trust for inner-city children, and co-chair of the Olympia Center, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to managing and maintaining the Olympia Theater, downtown Miami’s oldest historic performing arts center.

Paul I. Scherman. Esq.

Paul I. Scherman is an accomplished professional who brings more than 35 years of law practice and counsel to Patino Partners LLC. He heads Patino Partners LLC Governmental Affairs Departments and is responsible for all of the firm’s in-house legal matters, new business development and the day to day representation of clients.

 

He previously held the same position with International Management Consultants a governmental affairs consulting firm which he co-founded.

 

Mr. Scherman’s impressive track record includes more than 38 years of general practice of law with an emphasis on real property, corporate and commercial litigation with the law firms of Scherman and Zelonker, P.A. and Stabinski and Funt P.A. Prior to joining Patino Partners LLC, he headed his own law practice specializing in corporate and entertainment law. Mr. Scherman has represented numerous clients in the television direct response and fulfillment business. For the past seventeen years, he has specialized in governmental affairs law, and has been a registered lobbyist when necessary. His primary focus has been concentrated on developing business opportunities on behalf of the firm’s clients.

 

A member of the Florida Bar since 1978, he has been admitted to the Supreme Court of the State of Florida, the United States District Court of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals and  the United States Supreme Court. He is BV distinguished rated  by Martindale-Hubbell.

 

After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree Cum Laude in Political Science and a Masters degree in Political Science Cum Laude from Brooklyn College, he received his Juris Doctorate Cum Laude from Hamline School of Law (St. Paul, Minnesota) in 1977. Mr. Scherman is a past President of the Rotary Club of Miami Lakes.

Carlos Leonard is considered a top economic development professional with over 32 years of experience in assisting, negotiating and securing financial incentives for expanding and relocating companies.

As the former Senior Vice President of The Beacon Council, a world renowned economic development organization, Mr. Leonard brings an impressive track record of having assisted a diverse group of global and local corporations including, but not limited to, American Express, Kraft Latin America, Caterpillar Americas, Burger King, Ryder System, Federal Express, Telemundo, GAP, VISA International, UPS, American Insurance Underwriters (AIG), Boston Scientific, Cordis Corporation, IVAX, Avborne Heavy Maintenance, Alienware, Precision Response Corporation, Avborne Accessory Group, American Sales and Management, and Discovery Channel Latin America. While with the Beacon Council his primary objective was to provide site selection and to identify, qualify and secure the governmental approvals of financial incentives. His efforts resulted in the approvals of over $55 million dollars in economic incentives to various companies.

 

Prior to The Beacon Council, as the Program Manager for economic development in the City of Hialeah, he was responsible for developing and implementing commercial and industrial revitalization programs. In this capacity his efforts resulted in millions of federal dollars being distributed to business owners for improvements to their properties and businesses.

 

As a result of his experience, education (Florida International University), and numerous and significant political and professional relationships, Mr. Leonard brings a results oriented approach and philosophy to meet the needs of PATINO PARTNERS clients.
